About Us

R. Seth Hudson, JD grew up in Philadelphia, attended Boston University and Widener University School of Law. He practiced law in Philadelphia for 10 years, focused on corporate, real estate, estates and trusts, and tax law. For the next 15 years managed commercial/industrial real estate portfolios for several retail companies. He joined New York Life in 2011. He became a founding partner of Bidwell Hudson Insurance Agency LLC in 2016.

Seth is licensed to offer life insurance in Michigan, Ohio and many other states. He is also licensed to offer investments with FINRA series 6, series 63 and series 7 licenses.

Seth, his wife Marcy and daughter Juliet have lived in Perrysburg, Ohio since 1999. He enjoys living in his adopted hometown and tries to give back in as many ways as possible.

• He has been on the organizing committee of the MS Society’s Bike to the Bay for 15+ years.
• He is an usher at Perrysburg St. Rose Church and a third-degree Knight of Columbus.
• He served for 5+ years on the City of Perrysburg Planning Commission.
• He is a board member of the Way Library Foundation and friends, and a member of its Finance Committee.
• He is a member of Perrysburg BNI.
• He is a board member of the Toledo chapter of the Society of Financial Services Professionals.

Originally from New York State, Barry and his family moved to Perrysburg, Ohio, in 1985 due to his father’s career. He attended Perrysburg Schools, where he participated in athletics, volunteer activities, and a college-preparatory curriculum.

After graduating from high school, Barry attended Owens Community College, where he studied business, before continuing his education at the University of Toledo, also pursuing a degree in business. During his college years, Barry was an active member of Theta Chi fraternity, where he built lasting friendships and connections.

Barry began his professional career in the insurance industry in 1998. Now 49 years old, he brings nearly three decades of experience to his work and has developed a deep understanding of the importance of trust, communication, and personal relationships. He quickly developed a passion for the insurance industry, particularly the opportunity to work with people and provide support when they need it most. Starting in customer service, Barry worked his way into a role as an insurance producer, gaining valuable experience across nearly every aspect of an insurance agency.

That experience ultimately helped shape Barry into the agency owner he is today. From customer service and sales to operations and client retention, his hands-on background has given him a well-rounded understanding of the industry and a personalized approach to serving his clients.

The company has built relationships across Perrysburg, Maumee, Waterville, Holland, Whitehouse, and surrounding communities through local marketing events, community involvement, and a commitment to being present where its clients live and work.

Barry is also actively involved in the Perrysburg community. His professional and community involvement includes:

• Participation in the local Perrysburg BNI chapter and five area Chambers of Commerce
• Membership at St. Rose Church in Perrysburg
• Volunteer work with local organizations, including Project E.R., Just Pancakes, and The Junction Coalition
• Support of local shelters and community organizations, including Toledo’s Family House and St. Paul’s Community Center

While Barry takes great pride in his professional accomplishments and community involvement, his family remains his greatest source of pride. He is the proud father of three children, ranging in age from 12 to 21.

Outside of the office, Barry enjoys spending time with his family, traveling both near and far, exploring the Toledo area, and cheering on his favorite football teams, the Cleveland Browns and Penn State Nittany Lions. He is passionate about the community he calls home and believes Toledo is an excellent place to raise a family, build relationships, and grow a business.
